Two long-running long running events are coming up next week, and those who love long runs will get an opportunity to do both back-to-back for a new prize.

The annual Chile Pepper 10k is set for Saturday, Oct. 1 and the Razorback Run 15k is set for Sunday, Oct. 2, and organizers behind the events have created a new award for those that can complete both races called “the Spicy Hog Double.”

The Chile Pepper 10k is the open-to-the-public race as part of the annual Chile pepper Cross Country festival set for that weekend that will include around 6500 mostly high school and college cross country runners from around the region. The event will take place on the University of Arkansas Cross Country course, located near Agri Park. Proceeds from the event benefit local high school cross country programs.

The Razor Run 15k is one of two races associated with the Razorback Run event that weekend. a 5K fun run/walk is also available. This race departs from the NWA Mall, and will make it’s way along the Razorback Greenway through Fayetteville.

Those who’d like to participate in both events, and complete the back-to-back races will receive a new double-sided Spicy Hog Double finisher medal, sponsored by Experience Fayetteville.

Registration for the Chile Pepper 10k is $35, and the Razorback Run 15k is $50.
