For the 27th year, KARE 11 anchor Randy Shaver’s foundation, the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund, hosted their Rush for the Cure event, which raises money for cancer research and patient aid projects in Minnesota.

The event began July 31 with the Rush for the Cure gala held at Medina Entertainment Center. Some of the staples of the night included live entertainment and a silent auction, which featured items such as a signed Dalvin Cook football, Paul Molitor baseball, and Larry Fitzgerald jersey.

On Aug. 1, the 27th annual Golf Classic took place at Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove. Some of the participants included Joe Mauer, John Randle, and Paul Molitor. Overall, Shaver said on Twitter that they raised roughly $415,000 over two days.
